Building a Better World, One Community at a Time
Engineers Without Borders is a non-profit humanitarian organization that partners with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life through the implementation of environmentally and economically sustainable engineering projects.
The Pittsburgh Professional Chapter of Engineers Without Borders was formed in August 2007. The chapter serves as a platform for like-minded professionals to come together to practice their skills out of their normal applications and help make a difference in the world.
The Pittsburgh Professional Chapter consists of professionals who volunteer to plan, finance, oversee and implement forward-thinking engineering projects in disadvantaged communities worldwide. Projects range from providing safe water to a village in Kenya to providing electricity in a village in Thailand.
The Pittsburgh Professional Chapter also seeks to mentor engineering students in the Pittsburgh area to help develop the next generation of globally aware engineers. We partner with the University of Pittsburgh Chapter, helping them with their projects.
